A humanist and former artist who despised business as a student, and then discovered that it was his passion and calling. Today he knows that he can run a business in harmony with himself.

He was a Business English teacher for twelve years, he ran an artistic agency for seven years, so working for large international organisations is his second nature.

His mission is to change the organisational culture to one that supports customer-centricity, creativity and innovative employees.

One of his passions is playing drums. As a musician he has performed at the Opole festival and in the Mam Talent semi-final! He loves to play tennis and run.

Graduated with a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Warsaw.

THE BRAINWAVE STORY

2013
January 2013

Irek comes across a TED talk "Do schools kill creativity?" by Sir Ken Robinson (I want to see the video). Ken's speech completely shatters Irek's perspective and changes his life forever.

September 2013

The Wawa Design festival takes place, where Irek co-organizes his first creative workshops. This is also the moment when he learns about the Design Thinking method. In his head it connects with Ken Robinson's speech and he sees Design Thinking as an opportunity to save human creativity.

February 2014

Irek co-organizes his first open Design Thinking workshop and is initiated as a facilitator. He collects positive feedback from participants and it drives him to follow this path.

2015
November 2014

Invited by the international medical startup MedX from the Netherlands, Irek flies to Eindhoven to run his first workshop in English and help the founders develop the MVP.

February 2015

Irek runs the first Design Thinking recruitment project in Poland with the cofounder of BlaBlaCar.pl. The experiment turns out to be successful and BlaBlaCar rapidly expands its crew with fresh talents.

The DT Makers agency is created, of which Irek is one of the founders. After conducting open workshops as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and Design Thinking Week, DT Makers cooperation working with large multinational companies.

2017
November 2016

In order to share the experiences of a Design Thinking facilitator and let others conduct workshops professionally, DT Makers organize their first open Design Thinking facilitation training. All tickets sell out.

September 2017

DT Makers begin to conduct training and service design projects on a large scale. DT Makers begin to conduct training and service design projects on a large scale. The agency wins tenders for facilitation training for 80 managers at innogy and 50 lecturers at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin.

2018
December 2019

DT Makers finalize the rebranding process they have decided to do to refresh their image. After a year of working on the brand, we reveal ourselves to the world as Brainwave with a new visual identification and a website that better reflects who we are.

Brainwave effectively adapts to the new reality and transfers workshops and training sessions to the online world with the use of virtual rooms and boards. This allows us to conduct processes for remote teams in Poland and around the world.
